EN 10208-2 Seamless Pipes
UNI EN 10208-2 Material
BS EN 10208 Pipe
BS EN 10208-1/2 is a specification of pipes that are intended for transportation of combustible fluids on land. The material is highly heat resistant, wear and tear resistant and has HIC resistance. The BS EN 10208-2 is mostly used in the oil and gas industries to transport crude oil and other combustible fluids. The material has several quality levels and there are different categories and dimensions. The EN 10208-2 Hot Rolled Seamless Steel Pipes and cold drawn steel pipes are available. The hot rolled ones are rolled from sheets or plates of the same material grade while the seamless pipes are cold drawn from ingots of the same material grade. The EN 10208 Steel Pipes have diameters ranging from 21.3mm to 660mm and the wall thicknesses ranging up to 40mm with seamless pipes ranging from 10.2mm to 108mm. The EN 10208-2 Seamless Pipes have high accuracy in dimensions and can be used for more precise applications and be fitted easily and with efficiency. So the seamless pipes are preferred in sensitive applications such as gas transmission lines. The pipes have carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and silicon in the composition. This composition along with the formation techniques provide the EN 10208-2 Steel Pipes with the specific mechanical properties. The welding of these pipes is much easier with most traditional methods. No preheating is required and no post weld heat treatment is required.
